We offer end-to-end encryption via "AXA Secure Reader". You can send us encrypted emails once you have registered with your email address.
Do you have any questions regarding registration or on secure communication in general? Don't hesitate to contact us! We'll be happy to answer your questions.
Where no other arrangements are in place (as part of web permissions, for example), we will use emails only for follow-up correspondence in reaction to emails from you or if you expressly ask us for a reply via email.
If, after submitting a query by email, you do not wish to receive a reply via the same channel, please flag that up for us. Our employees can send emails on an encrypted basis at any time should you request this.
When we send an email, we normally accommodate your preferences. If particularly sensitive personal data are involved, we will use end-to-end encryption. As far as is technically possible, every email sent through AXA Switzerland is encrypted in transit (TLS encryption).
Please note: When emails are transmitted via TLS, only the transport route is encrypted. These emails are available on an unencrypted basis on your provider's server. Thanks to the requirements of telecommunications secrecy, however, emails are protected against viewing by law. Your email provider is solely responsible for the further transmission between you and your provider. The risk here is that – due to the gap in encryption – emails can be intercepted, read and/or tampered with while being transported from your provider to you.
In a securely encrypted email, all the information contained in the email is protected against being read by unauthorized parties, both during transmission and when you yourself access it.
In contrast, an unencrypted email is sent to you on an "open" basis across the entire transport route to and from you – in the same way as a postcard. From a technical perspective, therefore, it is possible for the email to be intercepted, read, evaluated, and tampered with.
